If you've ever worked in a restaurant, there is a good chance that you are familiar with the absolute necessity of traction matting in commercial kitchen areas. Our Dura-Chef mats offer a solution to slippery floors, for large commercial kitchens and for smaller, lighter traffic areas.

Dura-Chef mats are specifically designed to meet the needs of commercial kitchens and the food service industry. The honeycomb design allows spills to flow through the mat, while still providing a comfortable and safe surface to walk on. Having drainage holes about 3/4 inch in diameter, these mats provide the traction of a rubber, but also provide a temporary space for liquids and small debris, to keep these out of the way of busy servers and chefs.

The mats are also light enough to be picked up and moved regularly for cleaning. Our 3ft by 5ft mats, weighing about 30lbs, are lightweight enough for easy mobility. Our Dura-Chef mats come in a 'senior' (7/8 inch thick) version and 'junior' (1/2 inch thick) version.

7/8" Dura-Chef mats come in standard 3ft by 2ft, 3ft by 3ft, and 3ft by 5ft sections. Given that these mats are 7/8 inch thick, not only do they provide drainage and traction, but also the anti-fatigue qualities that are necessary to help save the knees and backs of chefs and bartenders from aches and pains while standing for long shifts.

Anticipating that this product will be used in fry and grill stations, it is available in grease and oil resistant Red as well as general purpose Black (for bar and service station areas which will not see as much oil exposure). Connectors and ramps are also available. A more suitable version of this mat for lighter traffic areas, such as delis and cafes, is our 1/2 inch Dura-Chef mats.

These provide similar anti-fatigue and drainage qualities, but it in lighter form. Also, I find that homeowners who have installed bars in their homes find the commercial aesthetics of this product appealing. An interesting advantage of the 1/2 inch thickness is that it comes in longer runners. Because this version of the product is thinner, longer runners are still lightweight enough for quick cleaning.

There is no secret about what the industry standard for restaurant floor mats is. If you have ever been in a commercial kitchen or a bar I’m sure you have spent a lot of time on a kitchen floor mat. Dura-Chef 7/8” – The Dura-Chef 7/8” is the kitchen floor mat that is designed to withstand the most wear and tear. At just under 1 inch thick this mat is extremely comfortable providing excellent anti-fatigue qualities. The more comfortable your employees are, the harder they will work. This kitchen mat will maintain excellent traction even with the surface of the mat is wet. The large drainage holes allow liquids and grease to move though the holes to the subsurface thus increasing traction and safety. Dura-Chef Interlock – Often times there are large areas that are exposed to excess greases and oils which can lead to a dangerous work environment. If traction, slip resistance and large coverage area is a must consider our Dura-Chef Interlock. This is a 5/8” thick kitchen mat that has an interlocking mechanism which allows you to connect many mats together over large areas. Our Dura-Chef Interlock is comprises of eco-friendly natural rubber and for areas where greases are present we offer this mat in a grease resistant red color which is natural rubber blended with Nitrile, a grease and oil resistant elastomer.
