The purpose of this specification is to establish minimum impact attenuation requirements for playground surfaces in order to reduce the risk of severe head injury from falls. This specification provides a uniform means of quantifying the impact attenuation performance of playground surfaces and is appropriately used to compare the relative performance of different playground surfacing materials. This specification is used as a reference for specifying the impact attenuation performance of playground surfaces.

Permanent Installations:
Eco-Safety Surfacing Tiles can be glued to wood or concrete subfloors using the BASF CX-941 Adhesive. Installation instructions are available upon request or can be accessed online. For new construction applications please read the subsurface preparation instructions before proceeding.
Temporary Installations:
Interlocking mechanisms (plastic connector pins) are available for these playground flooring tiles. The Connector Pins are 3.5” long and are made of hard plastic. The pins hold the tiles in place within slots in the tiles once they have been inserted. The 2.5” Eco-Safety tile has four (2) holes on each of the four (2) sides of the tile. This allows for quick and easy installation.
Indoor / Outdoor:
The high content of EPDM (a UV stable elastomer) found in tires makes these Eco-Safety rubber tiles an indoor and outdoor flooring product. There are approximately 240 Million tires discarded in the US each year which are made to withstand harsh outdoor conditions extremely well. This feature is not lost on our rubber playground tiles! They have inherited the unsurpassed outdoor durability of car tires and will floor your outdoor play area for the long-haul.
Cleaning:
This product can be cleaned using everyday household cleaning agents. Indoor cleaning would require a broom, wet mop, or a vacuum. For outdoor cleaning, a water hose, leaf blower, or broom are all effective methods. If desired, a mild detergent can be used to sanitize the surface of the rubber playground tiles.
