This neoprene sheet rubber is our most durable neoprene material available. What makes this hard neoprene rubber so durable is its 80 Shore A durometer rating. 80 durometer neoprene is ideal for applications that involve physically demanding or abrasive conditions. Beyond its considerable durability, this black neoprene rubber is popular for use in applications involving the presence of oil products or exposure to outdoor weather factors like ozone. With a smooth surface texture, this neoprene sheet material is available in gauges ranging from 1/32” to 1” thick, and in stocked widths of 36” and lengths of either 25 ft or 50 ft (depending on the thickness of the rubber rolls).
High Durometer Neoprene: A durometer rating of 80 Shore A, or simply 80A, is one of the highest ratings around. This 80A hard neoprene is definitely the highest of its kind available from Rubber-Cal. The high rating means that the rubber is superb at resisting permanent physical indentation from external sources. When people have physically demanding applications, such as in the construction and industrial fields, they generally tend to prefer the rubbers that have high durometer ratings.
Outdoor Use: You can use this black neoprene rubber in the outdoors. Neoprene has the ability to endure the presence of environmental elements such as moisture and ozone. While most other materials may tend to degrade over time after exposure to these factors, this durable neoprene will last for a longer period of time. This is another reason why you can find neoprene sheet rubber in use at outdoor construction sites and marine related applications.
Moderate Oil Resistance: Whenever an application involves the presence of moderate levels of oil and petroleum, neoprene is usually a good choice of elastomer to use when a rubber is needed. Oils tend to cause problems when they come into contact with various other kinds of rubbers. To ensure that your application is not hindered by an oil-damaged part, use this hard neoprene material. It can resist the damaging effects of prolonged exposure to oil, providing you with a long lasting rubber material.
